Before we can fully launch, we must obtain 501(c)(3) status, which allows us to operate as a tax-exempt nonprofit. This certification enables us to receive tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and establish the legal foundation for Cedar Refuge.

To build a strong foundation, we need initial funding to cover essential expenses like administrative costs, legal fees, and early program development. These funds also support key operational needs such as branding, outreach, and initial planning for property acquisition.

We are purchasing property with existing structures to develop into a self-sustaining ranch that will serve as a long-term healing home for children. Funding will go toward renovating current buildings, constructing additional trauma-informed spaces, and developing essential facilities such as staff housing, recreational areas, and a schoolhouse to create a safe, restorative environment for the kids in our care.

A successful program requires experienced, compassionate professionals, including therapists, caregivers, and administrative staff. This step ensures we have the financial resources to build a dedicated team while completing all necessary licensing and compliance requirements with the state of California.

Once all foundational elements are in place, we will finalize program structures, establish trauma-informed care systems, and ensure that Cedar Refuge is fully prepared to receive children. This is the moment when all the hard work comes to life, providing a place of hope and restoration for survivors of child sex trafficking.
